SARPAN Agri-Horticultural Research Centre (SAHRC) promoted by Gaddagimath family,was established in the year of 1992 on a prime land adjacent to Toll Plaza-1, National Highway - 4, Dharwad - Hubli Bye pass, Opposite Basava Colony, Dharwad, Karnataka, India. The research work and the collections of germplasm was initiated in the year 1980 and over a period of dedicated work, a huge germplasm of various crops has been maintained. The dedicated research carried out in various crops has resulted in development of more than 300 breeds of high yielding varieties and hybrids suitable to various agro-climatic conditions under the leadership of Dr.N.B.Gaddagimath, M.Sc. Ph.D. Director R&D, SAHRC, a renowned plant breeder internationally known for his extensive research on Chilli and Capsicum. A team of dedicated scientists and technocrats work round the clock on crop breeding programmes.
SARPAN HYBRID SEEDS CO.PVT.LTD. (SHSC) is actively involved in seed production, processing and marketing of seeds of Tropical Vegetables, Pulses, Minor Oil seeds, Annual and cut Flower Crops. The Company was registered during the year 2003 and professionally managed by "GADDAGIMATH" family supported by professionals and human resources in different fields of specilisation. Dr.N.B.Gaddagimath is the Managing Director of the company. Shri. S. B. Gaddagimath (Babanna), head of 'Gaddagimath' family is the Chairman of SARPAN.
All the products of SHSC are the PROPRIETARY RESEARCH breeds-varieties and hybrids evolved by the SAHRC.
The company now handles seeds of 35 Tropical Vegetables, Six Pulses, Six Oil Seeds and 62 Annual Flower Crops. In addition to seed production and marketing, the Company also undertakes Contract Seed Research, Contract Seed Production and Bulk Seed Supply for marketing.
